Once titled, 'Bailey's Place' - as our family grew so did our blog! This blog was created to post a snapshot of Bailey and Parker's life and view what has been happening in our lives here in Portland, OR. We hope you enjoy!

Mom and dad have been working around the house the last few weekends and since we are headed out of town this week (Indiana - yeah) - the nice weather this weekend created an opportunity to take advantage of this nice fall weather and get outside and camp! Mom had seconds thoughts about heading out - feeling like there were too many things to do around the house, etc... but once we hit the road there was no turning back. Off to the Coast we went...Ending at Fort Stevens to find camping just outside of Astoria, OR. I'm so glad mom and dad decided to get out of town, because it made for a longer weekend and it's always nice to get out of the 'ground hog day' affect (that's what mom says).
We walked a long the water in the sand keeping an eye out for 'sneaker' waves and playing in the sand. We stayed until sunset which was a spectacular sunset and worth the drive only if we did that.
After fixing dinner and hanging outside near the campfire, glazing up at the stars, I quickly grew tired. We slept until 9am (which isn't unusual in our household, especially when I'm sleeping with mom and/or mom and dad). Dad sleeps 'upstairs' in the van and mom and I sleep downstairs. We drove a long the coast to check out all of the stops and watched the waves crash over rocks. We saw groups of seals riding the waves too.... we also got to check out some kite surfers which was really cool. And we thought we only saw kite surfing in Hood River!
We checked out the little town of Astoria and ate at the local brewery there - http://www.fortgeorgebrewery.com/ after ending at a nearby coffee shop where I played and read some books we were back in the van for the journey home.
Mom says 'to do' lists are nice - especially when you get to cross off things on your list - however, there will always be 'to do' lists and we're glad we have dad in our lives that keeps us on track of living and having fun.
