Dave and I started our 30 day detox program. I think it's something to try and incorporate yearly and after the New year seems like a good to start! Although I was having doubts and thought another month would be a better time but reality is - it really doesn't matter. There's always going to be something. I used to take more yoga classes - somehow I haven't been able to carve out enough time to take Tiffany's class (who wrote this book) at Nike. However, I am trying to incorporate more yoga into my week.
Why detox?
Many reasons but we're basically machines and we need to clean out all of the 'goop' so we can function more efficient.
Last year Dave and I did a 14 day detox and I did feel good after it but I was more focused on actually making sure we didn't eat anything we weren't suppose to. I'm hoping this time I pay more attention to my body and see if I really notice anything different, etc... trying to figure out what your body really needs. The book takes you through a weekly plan and gives you a lot of information so you can take (or not take) what you want to get out of it. Tiffany incorporates yoga to this cleanse (I'm not really partaking in that part besides trying to incorporate more yoga into my weekly work outs).

We are eliminating, sugar, caffeine, alcohol, dairy and wheat and basically any processed food.
Tonight for dinner we had French green lentils, with mustard greens, carrots and leeks (cooked in coconut oil) yummy! I'll have to review the book on why olive oil is bad to cook with... Wow right. I always thought you were suppose to cook with olive oil.

Just ordered the book Amy! Not enough time to do a 30 day before Hawaii but may do a two week and look to you for pointers :)
