Joshua Tree National Park

Dave had just taken a few photo's of the girls and this was cute to
capture as  Bailey was pretending to take photo's of Parker up on
the rock.  and Parker was playing a long.  They did a great job for us.

Several Large Rock formations throughout the Park.  Amazing all
of the rock formations - and over 2,000+ climbs (mostly traditional
climbing and bouldering, small amount of Sport Climbing (which is
what we like to do).

This photo was taken on the 2nd day of climbing...I
had forgotten our cameras on the first day.  Bummer!  Bailey
did great after getting use to the rock.  She went up on the first day
a little ways and wanted down pretty quickly and then she
would keep climbing up and trying to get further then she had.
Bailey didn't like the climbing...she said it was too hard (and I'd have
to agree with her).  However, she is not use to not having 'holds' like she
see's in the rock gym.  Completely different experience.  We'll see how
excited she will be to go rock climbing again outside.  We hope to in May!

Luckily this was our set up when we got to climb - the girls napped
both days but in the shade it was pretty cold and windy.  Both Parker
and Bailey were troopers because it was Cold out there!

Well my goal was to 'lead' climb at least 3 routes and well,
we only climbed 2 routes (pretty difficult with the girls and
not knowing the area and how the rock is, etc...).  I only lead the first part
of the climbs on both routes.  Mentally I was not there... poor Dave who hasn't
climbed much at all for a long time and due to his ankle surgery hasn't had much of
a chance - ended up leading the rest of the way up both routes.  I'm so lame!  I think
I needed at least a week of climbing outside to get use to the rock and feel comfortable.
Oh and the climbs were difficult and the bolts were FAR apart.  Freaked me out!
