Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve - time goes quick we all know this... Precious time and I still haven't figured out the best way to prioritize. Things always work out though - you end up prioritizing what's most important at the time. We started getting things ready for our evening guests, after running last minute errands on the Eve. Went to The Mosiac church service at 4:30 and is around the corner from our house which made things easy. We had yet to visit the church but have contemplated many times before and today, which was with pleasure. The church was decorated like a scene from Portland. It was so perfectly Portland style. With the old doors used as the backdrop with wreaths hanging, the noble trees and all of the music performers in their flannel shirts and toboggans. The music consisted of a few string guitars, drums (not a drum set- more like the drum circle), a banjo and a few on vocals. They sang most of the typical holiday songs which was fun and overall we felt really good about going to this 'new age' church. I think I was skeptical because someone told me it was 'new age' so I didn't really know what to think but all in all i guess I like the new age version. :)
Our friends (without kids) came over and we cooked food, shared fun gifts, played games and finally read the Christmas story before the kids fell fast asleep.
