New Mexico Trip

My first trip to NM - it was a short trip but lots of fun. Mom and dad sure do like to keep busy - I guess there were too many things to see and do in such a short amount of time. We started off flying in late and staying the night in Albuquerque awakening to lots of sunshine which made mom very happy. After our morning sleep in and breakfast we packed up the car heading towards Santa Fe. We stopped first at the eastern edge of Albuquerque in the Sandia Foothills to see the World's longest aerial tramway, which goes up Sandia Mountain. We checked out the area and the views of the mountain and Downtown Albuquerque but didn't ride the tramway - to many other things to do and see. Mom and dad thought they would save my first tramway ride for when I knew what I was viewing.
We made our short 45 min. drive to Santa Fe and luckily found the room we rented easily. And it was right downtown so that was nice (we love Craig's list - www.craigslist.com ).
Mom and dad loaded me up in Mr. Bob (the stroller) - although it was used primarily for carrying a few bags and jackets because you know how I like to walk around these days. We found a yummy place to grab lunch and checked out most of the town.
Sunday we woke up early and had a yummy breakfast at a diner that a nice gal suggested to us and after breakfast we went to one of the church's - Loretto Chapel, which is the home of the Miraculous Staircase; http://www.lorettochapel.com/staircase.html
I loved walking in the church though - up and down the pews. There are a lot of churches in NM - really neat old churches that were very elegant.
Then mom and dad dragged me to my 1st museum, which I didn't think my family was big on, but they we were pleasantly surprised after going through the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum. There are so many museums and galleries in Santa Fe - what it is really known for. Maybe one day mom and dad will go back and buy me a cool painting that we saw.
Then we were off to Bandelier National Monument - where several thousand Pueblo (the native americans) once lived and their cave dwellings are still evident at the park today...among the rock canyons. We did a nice loop hike and it was sunny and 70's which made it very nice. This photo is dad and I climbing up into one of the caves the Pueblo people lived back in the 1500's. After the hike we stopped and ate our snacks near a river and then made our way back to Albuquerque via the Scenic Route of course. It was nice but towards the end I was tired of sitting in my car seat and really wanted to get out of the car. I finally fell asleep and napped until it was dinner time where we found a nice authentic Mexican restaurant in old town Albuquerque.
Oh and I can't forget about the evening dip in the pool and spa at the hotel just before going to bed... whooo what a trip.

First of all Bailey is so precious in this video. She is so sweet exploring the surroundings around her. She looks so loved by her parents. She loves the camera or I should say the camera loves her.
You made me want to go to New Mexico! What amazing scenery you captured.
Thanks for sharing your trip.

I enjoy Bailey at school and I am enjoying her days on all her adventures through this blog!
