The two photo's shown is what Dave has been working on this past weekend; Friday the 'hood' installation (took longer than expected - most of the day/evening to get it complete) and then putting on the first coat of trim paint in the bedrooms was begun. The trim is turning out really nice and matched up well with existing trim on walls and doorways (and floors). Kelly, our wood worker, has been working on all of the trim in the house. This was originally the small doorway from dining room to kitchen and we opened it up a few more feet. Trim looks great! And as you can see the small slate tiles are up in the kitchen as the back splash. Dave did a great job tiling! There were several small cuts and matching up to the trim work at the top ends was fun for him! After doing much of the tile on Saturday, he again worked on painting the trim in one of the bedrooms. Much of Sunday was spent painting the trim in another bedroom and then him and I consulting on paint colors for many of the rooms - something we've been doing for some time now! I've bought paint pallets from divine and yolo paints (locally made and low VOC) which we've decided to stick with the divine paint selection, however, focusing on too many rooms is exhausting! After a few hours and a few trips to the paint store this past week, getting sample paints and putting them on the walls, I feel like we know what we don't want but not sure on what we do want! I need to call my friend Amy to help me on this one!!! I'm getting overwhelmed. Monday, Dave left work early and picked up the grout for the kitchen tile and finished up the project! Looks great... He's back now as I type (at 10:32pm for some more fun trim painting in the bedrooms)!
Once titled, 'Bailey's Place' - as our family grew so did our blog! This blog was created to post a snapshot of Bailey and Parker's life and view what has been happening in our lives here in Portland, OR. We hope you enjoy!
