NWSS 2010

Another year for the Northwest String Summit music festival - a weekend of great bluegrass music infused with other music bands, camping, and our village (as Tim says) of friends! I think we had 24 adults and 14 kid's this year! We sure did miss Betsie... she would have loved having everyone at the music festival. It's such a happy place! Both Bailey and Parker did great! The weather was nice; that first night was chilly! No mosquitoes which we all thought were going to bother us. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend. I think I may need to start taking Monday off though as we all were completely exhausted. Probably over stimulated, less sleep, lot's of people, friends, music, and camping and playing outside for 3 days.
Bailey was very fun this year and into everything. She always wanted to go right down in front of the stage where all of the people were... 'get closer' she would tell us. We bought these headphones (safety first) but she refused to wear most of the time. Parker did not like them either... Bailey played a lot in the kid's corner where they had all kind of art projects, bubbles, face painting (all 3 days she waited to get her face painted). She hula hooped, danced and hung out with all of us on blankets, enjoying the music. All of the kid's loved camping by each other and especially when the peacock came through camp - everyone loved that. Horning's Hideout are known for their peacocks! Next year will be the 10th anniversary - I'm sure we'll all be there.
